1. Precision metal processing

The production operation after stamping can allow stamping products to add other parts to stamping parts according to the burr, tapping, hinge and punching process, or to correct the deficiencies in surface treatment, so as to remove sharp edges that may affect safety.

Burr removal involves the removal of residual cutting material fragments from the workpiece after stamping. Sharp edges may need to be ground to remove burrs, or the edges may be rotated to produce smooth edges, and the burrs may be guided to internal wrinkles so as not to affect the appearance.


2. Design precautions
As some designs may be more prone to distortion and affect the perception of finished products on quality, narrow designs should be avoided in stamping products. Where possible, the design shall be based on standard shapes and bending of existing molds. The stamping die needs to be customized, which will increase the cost of the initial die. In the design of stamping products, the main purpose of avoiding sharp internal and external corners is to reduce large burrs on sharp edges in these areas, which can only be removed after secondary treatment.

For punching work, not only the punching direction but also the punching characteristics should be considered. Generally, holes are punched in one direction, so any sharp edges produced by the punching needle must be on the same side of the workpiece.

Subsequently, these edges can be hidden in the appearance, avoiding workers or end users of the product, because it can avoid some potential risks. Punching characteristics shall reflect the thickness of raw materials, and the size of punching shall be at least twice the thickness of materials.

For bending degree, the minimum bending radius of sheet metal parts is basically the same as the material thickness. Small bending is difficult to complete, which may cause pressure on finished parts and product quality problems.


When drilling holes, it is also helpful to ensure the positioning, tolerance and accuracy by performing these operations in the same step. At the same time, the diameter shall not be less than the material thickness, and the minimum spacing of holes shall be at least twice the material thickness.
